Ecuador - Technical Assistance and Training at Eight Public Hospitals in Ecuador
Background
In 2008 Dräger Medical Netherlands was awarded with an ORET funded project to improve emergency and critical healthcare in eight public hospitals in Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca. A fundamental part of the implementation of the project is technical assistance, comprised of clinical training, management training, training on maintenance for medical equipment and environmental training. Dräger Medical Netherlands subcontracted AMPC for the planning, organization, execution and quality control for those training programs

Goals
  • Planning and implementation of the training program
  • Monitoring and quality control of the training program

Approach
For the organization and implementation of the training program AMPC works closely together with SAB MedConsult. Together with the Ministry of Health of Ecuador (MSP) a detailed training program in all four areas is currently being defined. For the execution of the training program, AMPC will work together with various knowledge institutes among which the  Universidad Internacional de Ecuador and the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito. The practical maintenance courses will be organized in cooperation with the local Dräger agent and other local suppliers. Finally, a pilot project towards an ecological hospital will be implemented in one of the eight project hospitals. This pilot project will be implemented and executed directly by AMPC.

Results
This project is currently still ongoing.
