Algeria

The Ministry of Defence of Algeria aims to establish two 120-beds cancer hospitals in the cities of Oran and Constantine. The hospitals will provide a wide range of specialized oncology services, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery, and will have access to advanced diagnostic means, including nuclear medicine. The consortium responsible for the design and construction of the two hospitals requested AMPC to develop an equipment planning for each of the hospitals based on their proposed service portfolio. This included full functional and technical specifications for all medical and non-medical equipment and furniture items. Based on the equipment planning, room-by-room civil, electrical, mechanical and plumbing engineering requirements were defined. Finally, AMPC provided advice on radiation protection measures in line with IAEA requirements.
