The Ministry of Public Health and the Fight Against Aids (MSPLS) proposed to construct two new district hospitals in Vumbi and Busoni to improve access to hospital care for the inhabitants of Kirundo province. MSPLS invited a consortium composed of AMPC and PharmAccess Foundation to assist them in developing the project and applying for funding from the Dutch ORIO Facility for Infrastructure Development. Within the consortium, AMPC was mainly responsible for the technical and financial aspects of the feasibility study, including the functional programme for the district hospitals, the conceptual architectural and engineering designs, the equipment planning, financial modelling and analysis, and the development of a procurement strategy.
