Laos - Mittaphab Hospital

Mittaphab hospital is one of four central hospitals in Lao People’s Democratic Republic and specialises in a number of key areas including trauma, neurosurgery, orthopaedics and blood replacement transfusion. Since 2009, the Hospital has undergone several renovations accompanied by the procurement and installation of new equipment to replace obsolete equipment and facilities. UNOPS has contracted AMPC to conduct an in-depth assessment of the Mittaphab Hospital and to consolidate the existing plans for the Hospital into a Master Plan. Furthermore, AMPC’s assignment included supporting the management of the Mittaphab Hospital and national authorities in the assessment, planning and coordination of the scope of services at the Hospital to ensure equal access to improved quality care for all population groups. Hence, AMPC consolidated the Master Plan and conducted a comprehensive feasibility study that analysed and advised on the medical and functional needs of the hospital, the hospital infrastructure, and the availability and requirements for equipment and staff.
